The four steps a migration is made of

We handle most of the work for you: the domain transfer, the nameserver changes, and moving your WordPress site - free of charge.

All that's left for you to do is send us the credentials we need, create your new mailboxes, and, if needed, move your old email content into them.

We'll handle the transfer, and take care of renewing it going forward too.

DNS & email routing

We'll edit the DNS records so the right services keep pointing to the right place.

Website

We'll migrate your entire WordPress site for you, free of charge - other platforms get rebuilt.

Email

We'll help you find the right settings and guides for moving your email.

Step 1

Domain transfer

Transferring a domain needs a registrar transfer key (for .fi domains) or an Auth-ID (for other TLDs).

You get the key or code from your current provider - we'll take care of renewing the domain going forward too.

  • Request a registrar transfer key (.fi) or Auth-ID (other TLDs) from your current provider
  • Make sure the domain isn't locked or about to expire
  • We'll take it from there once we have the key or code

If the domain is already with us but just pointed elsewhere, it's even simpler - we just switch the nameservers, no key or Auth-ID needed.

Step 2

DNS settings & email routing

Once your domain is with us, its nameservers switch to ours by default - which also routes email to us.

Want to keep your current email setup (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, for example)? We'll edit the DNS records so only the MX records keep pointing where they already do - everything else can still point to us.

  • Let us know in advance if email should stay elsewhere

Step 3

Moving your website

We'll migrate your entire WordPress site for you - free of charge. You don't have to lift a finger, we handle the whole move.

That applies to every WordPress, SmartWP and SmartWoo customer. If your current site was built on something else entirely (Wix, Shopify, another website builder), it usually can't be moved as-is - you'll want to rebuild it on WordPress or our Website Builder instead.

  • WordPress: we handle the entire migration, free of charge
  • Another platform (Wix, Shopify, etc.): we rebuild it
  • Small static site: move it yourself

You're also welcome to move it yourself with our guides, or move a small static HTML site yourself, even onto our free Park plan.

Step 4

Moving your email

Moving the actual email content is on you, but we make it as painless as possible with our guides.

First you create the mailboxes you need, then import your old mailbox content into them, and finally update your email settings in whatever client you use (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail, etc.).
